Krishnadas visits Kuttanad

ALAPPUZHA: BJP state president P K Krishnadas alleged that the CPM `highhandness’ in Kuttanad was the main reason for the huge crop loss suffered by paddy farmers.

Speaking to newsmen at Thayankari in Kuttanad on Tuesday after visiting the affected paddyfields, the BJP president questioned the CPM’s right to collect huge funds from the farmers to allow the use of harvesting machines in the paddyfields.

He said the State Government should take steps to mediate between the farmers and the agriculture labourers to set right the problems in the farming sector.
