Covert Moves to Glorify Maoist Terrorism

via HK published on May 13, 2015

Kochi: The latest move to ruin the national fabric is the secret move to glorify Maoist terrorism via the relatively new media platforms of the state. Groups and organizations that have close connections with Naxals and Jihadists are the ones behind this glorification drama and spreading of propaganda. Sources have reported that propaganda borders mainly on the lines of “maoists being crusaders of the downtrodden with the government machinery training guns for their arrest being the real terror mongers.” The latest such character to be eulogized thus is the daughter of Roopesh and Shyna, in whose “praise” runs pages on social media platforms.

Sources have also indicated that Naxal activities receive wide spread support and impetus from IT sectors. Maoists have been successful and instrumental in brainwashing large sections of youth via covert programmes conducted in college campuses, to the extent of making them supporters and ssympathizers. They arr then baited for further propaganda. And when a naxal kingpin is arrested, efforts at spreading their message is intensified. This includes springing up of several related pages under the guise of protecting human rights which are splashed across social media platforms. These pages have posters and write ups that evidently scream aloud naxal ideology, along with messages that focus on churning out sympathy for the arrested “rebels for a cause”. Needless to say, their messages are ferried across to destinations without many hassles. They are also instrumental in widespread rumours related to the same, intended to whip up sentiments. All this, cleverly weilded and skillfully orchestrated in stealth by former naxalites and Jihadists.

Sources have also revealed that Islamist publications and print media houses, including the ones owned by the master minds of hand chopping case, are in the forefront in sharing and giving publicity to the free run of Maoist agenda. These media houses have also been instrumental in raising their voice against moves made by government machinery, in arresting naxal hands. Such media houses, which try to air news and views about “anarchical situations prevailing in the country” project Naxal leaders as social reformers and champions of people’s causes- all this, propped up fortifyingly by a set of human rights groups.
