The Akhila Bharata Ayyappa Seva Sangham has urged the authorities to construct a temporary bridge across the Azhutha river on the traditional trekking path through the forests as millions of devotees use this route during the pilgrimage season.

Besides, it said that at the Azhutha Ghat there were no facilities for the pilgrims to perform the rituals and this needed to be created immediately lest the pilgrims would have any problem during the Mandala vilakku and Makara vilakku.

The Sangham office bearers said that only through coordinated efforts by the government, forest department and the Travancore Devaswom Board the hardships presently faced by the devotees could be alleviated.
