via HK published on July 24, 2015

Kochi: Secularism propagated by Congress & CPM is an eyewash to fool majority Hindus in Kerala; These are not the words of any Sangh Pariwar leader in Kerala.

It seems CPI leader Kanam Rajendran slammed fake secularism promoted in Kerala, In a recent interview to a private channel.

He also pointed out that the ‘minority’ is no more a ‘minority’ in Kerala as it stands at 52%, according to the census of 2011.

“One must be aware of the changes sweeping Kerala. According to the census of 2001, Hindu population stood at 56%. However, according to the census of 2011, the minorities are likely to stand at 52%. A study should be conducted to see if this is creating a social imbalance,” said Kanam Rajendran.

The Marxist party had earlier distanced itself from a previous statement made by Kanam on similar lines. Alleging that Chief Minister Oommen Chandy was indulging in minority appeasement, he said that this kind of conciliation will raise ample doubts.

“Examine the details at educational institutions. The appeasement aspect will become clear,” he added.
