Church sponsored street fight in Kerala Capital

Thiruvananthapuram:Factional feud with in two prominent Christian groups ,today turned into street fight with a group headed with Priests and Church leaders attacked Police and Media persons here.State capital was literally changed to a war zone with the followers of Christ reigned the roads with stones and sticks.


 


The infighting between Syrian Orthodox church and Syrian Jacobites trace  back to decades of indifference over Church properties.The vote bank politics of CPI(M) ,to gain the confidence of Jacobite’s had made this issue this much worse and grown to a law and order situation in the state.Government betrayed the Orthodox Church, by letting the Jacobite’s to enter in a disputed property, Thrikkunnathu Seminary in Aluva two weeks back.


 


Today’s protest march called by Orthodox faction over the Governments betrayal towards them turned violent and the whole fury towards Government and Jacobites were ended up on Police, Media personnel’s and innocent pedestarians.Vehicles and Buildings were also not spared by the followers of a religion, which claims to be the religion of peace!
