Chottanikara Temple – Inauspicious signs found during devaprasnam
CHOTTANIKKARA: The astrologers carrying out the ashtamangala devaprasnam at the Chottanikkara Devi Temple said on Monday that many inauspicious signs were found during the prasnam. They attributed the unpleasant findings to the altering of the age-old rituals and offerings by the new administration of the temple.  The team of astrologers also raised doubts about the purity of those who are involved in the cleaning of the utensils used for making offerings.
According to them, a number of key rituals, including guruthy, were not being conducted as per the instructions of the thantri. The astrologers said they are yet to figure out the divine presence associated with goddess Chottanikkara Amma.
“We hope we could clear the uncertainty regarding the divine presence in the coming days,†said an astrologer. “Then only we will be able to suggest a solution to the forewarnings,†he added.
Senior members of the thantri family, including Puliyannoor Narayanan Namboothiripad, Anujan Narayanan Namboothiripad, Puliyannoor Sasi Namboothiripad and Dileepan Namboothiripad were present during the prasnam which will continue on Tuesday.
