Court directive to Ex-Minister on contempt case

KOCHI: A full bench of the Kerala High Court on Wednesday directed Former Minister and Muslim League leader Cherkulam Abdulla to appear in person before the court on June 21 in a contempt of court case.

The bench comprising Justice J B Koshy, Justice A K Basheer and Justice K P Balachandran said it was not inclined to accept the unconditional apology tendered by Abdulla.

P Damodaran, secretary, Vyapari Vyapasai Ekopana Samithy, Cheruvathoor in Kasargode district filed the contempt of court case alleging the reception organised at Cheruvathoor when Cherkulam was a Minister violated the guidelines prescribed by High Court for conducting processions and rallies.
