*says CPM trying to convert office into another Nandigram

The employees union has said that the strike conducted by the pro CPI(M) Audit and Accounts association is misleading and has vested interests. The AG’s Employees Union president KJ Rafi and general secretary S Chandrakumar said that the strike was controlled by certain vested interested leaders.

The leaders told newspersons that the proposal to outsource the one rank – one pension project was dropped last December owing to the intervention of the union. The employees union leaders alleged that the strike call is to sabotage the friendly nature among the employees of the different trade unions and that there is a concerted effort on the part of the CPI(M) leadership regarding this.

They also said that the with the intervention of outside forces and the inaction of the police using the power of the State administration the CPI(M) was trying to convert the AGs’ office and the premises into another Nandigram.

There are allegations that the association leaders in their bid to win the strike and thereby the confidence among the employees have adopted third grade tactics, including petitioning against the Accountant General of ill behaviour towards women staff. It is also learnt that some 11 women staff had petitioned against the AG but he was adamant and called upon the high-level enquiry into the charges levelled against him.

On the basis of the complaint and on the insistence of the AG, a team of officials from Delhi had arrived here and had called upon each woman employee who had filed the complaint separately and taken their verdict.

Sources told The Pioneer that the employees responded contradictory to what they have said in the complaint.

It is learnt that the employees responded with the statement that the AG who had passed by the striking employees had not even bothered to care at them and this was the complaint of ill behaviour.

The pro-Congress unions are trying to highlight the derogatory manner in which the strikes are being conducted by the CPI(M) and its feeder organisations in the departments and outside under the LDF Government of Achuthanandan.
