BJP’s final list announced, Krishnadas from Thiruvananthapuram

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala BJP on Friday
decided to field its president PK Krishnadas in the Thiruvananthapuram
Lok Sabha constituency after continued efforts to rope in senior leader
and former Union Minister O Rajagopal failed. Though the Central and
State leaderships requested him to contest the seat even on Friday
morning, he turned down this request citing health reasons.
The former Union
Minister, who had polled more than 1,50,000 votes in Thiruvananthapuram
in the 2001 Lok Sabha elections, but he improved it to a stunning level
of more than 2,28,000 in the 2004 elections. In that election, VS
Sivakumar, the Congress candidate had polled only 3,000 more.

The other candidates
decided by the election committee on Friday were Rama Raghunandanan,
wife of Thrissur district president of the party, E Raghunandanan,
Narayanan Namboothiri in Kottayam, Aravindan in Malappuram, PP
Karunakaran Master in Kannur and Soni J Kalyankumar in Alappuzha
