BJP Seeks NIA Inquiry into Bangalore Blast

Kochi: The state unit of BHaratiya Janata Party has sought an inquiry by NIA into the Bangalore blast case, which has Abdul Nasser Madani as prime accused. According to BJP, Madani was influencing witnesses, after having received bail.

“Madani has been trying to influence witnesses, thereby making attempts to sabotage the case. Prime witnesses like Jose Varghese, Abdu Ustad, Mani alias yusuf, Anwar Kareem have now shifted stands. Others are now planning to follow suit and the provocation for the same is quite strong. Thadiyantevide Naseer has in fact given a strong testimonial against Madani,” said BJP state president V Muraleedharan.

Alleging that various attempts are being made to sabotage the case by distorting the testimony given to NIA, Muraleedharan said that the pattern of changing stands have become stronger after the Congress came into power in Kerala. “There are leaders in Congress whose help is being taken to weaken the prosecution processes,” he said adding that the role of Home Minister of Karnataka is also to be probed into.

The damp attitude displayed by prosecution has led to the extension of bail for Madani. There was no interest shown by the prosecution, to furnish before the court, those statements given by witnesses who changed stands and there by stop the same. Under such circumstances, an inquiry by NIA is vital. The central government must be notified about the need to initiate an NIA probe. With charges of involvement in terror circles being slapped on Madani, this is a case that should be investigated by NIA,” said Muraleedharan.
