BJP Seeks High-level Probe

THRISSUR: The BJP Thrissur Committee on Thursday urged Maneka Gandhi, Union Minister of Women and Child Development, to conduct a probe into the inter-state chid trafficking to Kerala. Since the offenders from various states are involved in the trafficking, only high-level investigation can unearth the nexus between traffickers and orphanage managements here, BJP district president A Nagesh said.

There has been a spurt in the child trafficking cases to the state for begging, child labour and orphanage management in the recent times. Besides, there has been government level intervention to protect the people and institutions involved in the crime, he said.
