BJP leaders picket Collectorate against police atrocities

PALAKKAD : The BJP leaders and workers on Wednesday conducted a picketing in front of the Palakkad Collectorate in protest to the Police framing Goonda Act on the arrested BJP, RSS cadres in the case related to the murder of two CPI-M workers at Malampuzha.

Four BJP, RSS workers arrested in connection with the murder of the CPI(M) workers have started fasting in the jail.

The BJP leaders accused the CPI(M) leadership of directly interfering in the home department and having controlled the police in each stages of the investigation related to the murder of the CPI-M workers.

The BJP leaders said that the State Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan is blatantly misusing the police force for the needs of the CPI(M) and the Minister is behaving as a local leader of the CPI(M) rather than the Home Minister of the State from whom people expect justice without demarcation.

The BJP State leaders who participated in the dharna said that the CPI(M) was planning for more unrest in the area and the arrests of the RSS, BJP workers and the subsequent moves to frame Goonda Act on the party cadres is a direct interference on the law of the land and that there would be major protests through out the state against the draconian law which is being misused by the state CPI(M) leadership making the police a scarecrow.

The BJP leaders also charged the CPI(M) and the party cadres to having created law and order situation in the area by directly taking the law into their hands and having arm twisted the police according to the party’s wishes .

The BJP leaders said that the party will conduct democratic means of protests through the State and that this would at least open the eyes of the people of the State on the CPI(M) run police raj in the State.

The party leaders also said that the CPI(M) leaders are acting as the state DGP after the LDF Government has come to power and the police is dancing on the tunes of the state CPI(M) leadership.

BJP leader L.Sivarajan while speaking in the protest march warned the CPI(M) leadership and the district police superintendent that there would be major protest marches in the district and that the party would conduct padayatras and other means of protest through each grama panchayath to create awareness among the people of the district on the CPI-M taking the law into their hands.

He also said that the democracy is being butchered under the CPI-M led left rule and that this would create more social unrest in the district and the State for that matter.
