BJP leader’s house set ablaze

MAVELIKKARA: The house of Sivan Pillai of Mathekadu, a BJP leader and also the vice-president of the Venmani Panchayat Committee, was set ablaze by an unidentified gang today. The gang of around hundred CPIM) goons barged into the house and destroyed the furniture, a car and a bike early in the morning. Sivan Pillai, his mother and his wife Prasanna have been injured in the incident and shifted to a private hospital in Kollakkadavu.

Top police officials including Alappuzha SP are camping in the area as a tensed situation is prevailing here.
