BJP: Kerala is ruled by a Cabinet of lunatics

The Bharatiya Janata Party has alleged that the State is being ruled by 19 Ministers, including the Chief Minister, who have lost their mental equilibrium.

Inaugurating the State-wide agitation of the party against price rise in front of the Civil Station here on Monday, State BJP president PK Krishnadas said, “Everyone in this Ministry, including Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan, should be sent to Kuthiravattom (asylum).”

It was Devaswom Minister G Sudhakaran’s madness that had worsened the Aravana issue to the present extent, the BJP leader said. He said that criminal cases should be registered against the Minister and the Travancore Devaswom Board president.

Taking a dig at the Food and Civil Supplies Minister C Divakaran for his statement on switching Malayalees food preference from rice to eggs, milk and chicken meat, Krishnadas asked, “Will the Minister, who wants Malayalees to give up rice in the context of the rice price rise, ask the people to give up clothes if that became expensive?”

He said that such cruelty against the pilgrims at Sabarimala had not even been heard in history. The Government was behaving as though the devotees were its enemies. “The Prasadam of Lord Ayyappa was being distributed with total disrespect,” he alleged. “The Government here is one that is accursed,” he added.

As the people of the State were reeling under the effect of rise in the price of essential commodities, the Ministers were in the run for conquering their party, CPI (M), at the conferences, Krishnadas said. There was nobody at the State Secretariat to look after administrative matters, he said. “The Marxists who are engaged in efforts to conquer the party have no time to listen to the plight of the people,” he said.

Krishnadas said, “Kerala is being ruled by eighteen Chief Ministers and one Minister. Achuthanandan does not know what the Ministers are doing. Kerala has never seen such a rotten rule,” he said.
