BJP Kasargod District Committee suspended
KASARGOD: BJP state president V Muraleedharan on Sunday suspended the district committee of the party led by M Narayana Bhat, following severe lapses with regard to organisational matters.
The BJP state committee had set up an inquiry commission led by party state secretary V Sivan Kutty and state committee member advocate Aravindakshan to report about the factional feuds in the party.
The decision to suspend the district committee was taken on the basis of the report, which had been submitted to V Muraleedharan. Party workers had raised charges against district president Narayana Bhat that he worked against party state secretary and its Manjeswaram candidate for the last Assembly election, K Surendran.
The party suffered erosion of its traditional vote bank as some leaders plotted against K Surendran in the Assembly election, it was alleged.
According to sources, Narayana Bhat, who returned to the BJP from the Congress, had set his eyes on the Kasargod Assembly seat.
