BJP flays UDF, LDF stand on Madani
Pioneer News Service/ Alappuzha
BJP State president PS Sreedharan Pillai has said that the plan of the UDF and the LDF to bring out a unanimous resolution in the coming Assembly session on the release of Abdul Nasser Madani is against the constitution.
He said here on Monday that this was not an issue which should be drawn to the streets. The move would dampen the credibility of the Assembly, he added
Mr Pillai said that both the fronts were trying to outsmart each other in appeasing the minority votebank and that the BJP would strongly oppose the move.
The BJP State president said that the situation in Karnataka was a silver lining for the State BJP.
He added that the party would hold a celebration February 3 when the new Karnataka Government assumes office.
He also said that the party’s victory in Karnataka was a prelude to the scheme of things coming up in Kerala. To a question whether the Kerala unit of the Janata Dal would be invited to the BJP fold, Mr Pillai said that almost 70 per cent of the Janta Dal MLAs in the country were with the BJP. He added that the Kerala State president of Janata Dal, MP Veerendrakumar knew this reality well.
