BJP flays CPM ruled-panchayat’s attitude towards Dalits

PALAKKAD: The Bharathiya Janata Party has
come out strongly against the attitude of the CPM-ruled
Sreekrishnapuram grama panchayat in not repairing the houses of fifty
Dalit families in spite of the funds being allotted for the purpose due
to political considerations.

Sivarajan and BJP general secretary of Sreekrishnapuram Assembly
committee M Ramankutty told mediapersons that Rs 1,50,000 was allotted
from the plan fund and the district panchayat had also allotted another
Rs 30,000 for repairing the houses. But the money which was to be spent
before March 31 was not utilised by the panchayat.
