BJP dubs Guv’s policy address unrealistic

The Bharathiya Janata Party (BJP) alleged that the policy address by Kerala Governor RL Bhatia was unrealistic as well as impracticable.

Addressing mediapersons here on Saturday, BJP spokesperson BK Sekhar said that the policy address of the Governor had not mentioned anything about the 10-point development agenda announced by President APJ Abdul Kalam.

“The Left Democratic Front (LDF) Government which upholds its sincerity to the common man had not reflected its passion in the policy address,” he said adding that the policy speech also lacks any decision for studying the tribulations of the common people in the State.

The BJP spokesperson said that the Government is taking an indifferent approach towards the Government officials of the State. “The absence of many higher Government officials during the policy address is due to this attitude of the Government,” he said.

BK Sekhar said that the State is now devoid of a smooth rule. “31 days had been completed since the LDF Government came to power. To this day, they have done nothing for the welfare of the people. Of these 31 days, Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan had spent almost 19 days in party work,” he said.

He also said that the issues relating to the alleged Mythri scam against the Public Works Department (PWD) Minister PJ Joseph and the appointment of Subramony as a higher official mar the face of the LDF Government. “The Chief Minister had appointed Subramony in accordance with the recommendation of a Minister in his own Cabinet,” he said.
