KOZHIKODE: BJP state president P S Sreedharan Pillai has demanded a CBI probe into the recent recovery of gelignite sticks from the KSRTC bus stand here.

It has been revealed that the 47 gelignite sticks recovered from the KSRTC stand came from a stock of 800 sticks and the police still have no clue on where the rest of the explosives have gone, he said in a statement issued here on Monday. “Besides, explosives along with detonators have been recovered from Malappuram district.”

These instances, the BJP leader said, should be seen in the backdrop of the recent statement by the Army’s southern chief that Pakistan agency ISI is active in North Kerala. “But both the UDF and the LDF are neglecting these facts and the Oommen Chandy Government is protecting the traitors.”

The case should be handed over to the CBI and both the fronts should come out strongly against the terrorist and extremist elements, he said.
