Bid to loot temple foiled

PARAVUR: The employees of Dakshina Mookambika Temple here, have foiled an attempt to loot the temple in the wee hours of Sunday. Watchman Krishnan and kazhakakkaran Gopalakrishnan heard the noise of breaking the lock of the main offering box placed at the east nada of the temple at 2.30 am.

The burglar escaped by jumping over the compound wall when the employees dared to nab him. One of the locks was destroyed.

Police team led by CI R K Krishnakumar and SI Mohammed Riyaz rushed to the spot. Finger print experts took evidence from the site.

An iron bar allegedly left behind by thief was found near the offering box.
