Vishwa Hindu Parishad organisation secretary Kummanam Rajasekharan has asked the Guruvayur Devaswom managing committee to ban Devaswom Minister G Sudhakaran and Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan from entering the Guruvayur temple as they are declared atheists.

In a letter to the Devaswom managing committee, Kummanam said that as faith is the qualification for entry into temple, non-believers like Sudhakaran and Kodiyeri did not deserve entry into the temple.

Devaswom Minister requested the managing committee, which is scheduled to discuss Sudhakaran’s letter recommending entry for Christian playback singer KJ Yesudas into the temple, to take up the matter of Kodiyeri and the Devaswom Minister.

Kummanam said that Sudhakaran had made it clear many a times that he was not a believer and also had not taken the oath as Minister in the name of God for this reason, he added.

The Hindu leader said that Kodiyeiri too was not a believer and that he himself had said he did not carry out the rituals following his mother’s death.

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Jyothi Sasthra Parishad, a forum of astrologers, has cleared that Yesudas will not be able to enter the Guruvauyur temple as per the temple norms.
