Bail for Marad Accused is Part of Political Conspiracy: Kummanam Rajashekharan.

published on July 15, 2014
The bail extended to those accused in Marad massacre is part of a political conspiracy, alleged Kummanam Rajashekharan. The Hindu Aikya Vedi General Secretary has castigated the state government for being a part of the conspiracy.

“The prosecution should have adopted a tough stand against the granting of bail to those accused. However, all that the prosecution sought was implementing stringent measures in case bail was granted. The Kerala government, which argued that the situation will take a turn for the worse in case bail was granted, has not insisted on the non-granting of bail. Instead the government laid stress on the clauses to be observed in case bail was granted. In short, it is apparent that the government stands conducive with the granting of bail to those accused,” lambasted Kummanam Rajashekharan adding that the government has not, till date, paid heed to granting of social justice to the families and friends of those who were brutally murdered in the massacre which shook the very base of Kerala society.

Asserting the stand of Kerala High Court and the report submitted by inquiry commission that “deeper, mammoth conspiracy, shady money transactions and terror networks lay behind the massacre,” Kummanam Rajashekharan said that “the government has not yet granted sanction to the CBI or any specially constituted inquiry groups to look into the matter.”

‘The government has failed miserably in procuring justice for the victims regarding the proceedings of the case,” said Kummanam Rajashekharan. “The state government has, right from the beginning, never been patient to even listen to the grievances from the side of victims or cater to their needs. However, they did succeed in showing their true colours by being in league with the conspirators and accused, just when the proceedings of the case are about to come to an end. The government has taken a stand favourable for the accused because of the political affiliations being enjoyed by the accused and also the involvement of bigwigs in the deeper conspiracy,” said Kummanam Rajashekharan.
“If the government continues with the stand of bias it has taken till now, the Hindu Aikya Vedi will step in, with the people’s mandate,” he added.
