published on June 7, 2014
The children from Jharkhand who were transported to the orphanage at Mukkam have alleged that authorities tried to enforce on them various customs and practices such as sunni faction’s orthodox barelvi rituals etc. They also disclosed that it was unbearable for them to put up with what was being enforced. These revelations have brought to light how liberal thinking Muslims were being forced to convert to don an extremist approach.
“Many of the students who could not conform to the fundamentalist approach were even forced to put an end to these classes,†revealed children of the Deoband sect, hailing from the village of Gonda, adding that some of the guardians had also expressed displeasure at the same. Â
Most of the children who came to Kerala from Gonda belong to the Deoband sect and conform to that of the Mujahid sect of Kerala.
