Armed Police accompany Electricity Board staff to take Meter Reading in Jihadi infested Beemapally

Normally meter reading in any house in Kerala is taken by a person alone from Electricity department .But that is not the case near Beemappally Mosque in Thiruvananthapuram, Capital of Kerala.

Meter reading of 300 Jihadi houses in this locality could be done only with the protection of  a team of policemen comprising Poonthura Circle Inspector and Sub Inspector.The ten member team from the Electricity department included Asst Ex.Engr Ajithkumar and Asst.Engr K.Gopalan.

Beemappally is a notorious area in Trivandrum where there is a concentration of jihadi elements.It is the epicentre of many criminal activities in the district including fake CD Racket.Even govt officials don’t dare to enter this area even for discharging their duty due to fear of life.

A few days back ,Anilkumar ,an employee in the electricity department from the Sreevaraham division was beaten up very badly for pointing out electricity theft by tampering the meter.”Electricity theft by tampering the meter is widespread in this locality”said Asst.Executive Engineer Anilkumar.

Even many days after the attack, the police is unable to nab the culprits till date.
