Arm smuggling, Raids in train

Thrissur:  Based on intelligence tip off, Police checked trains coming from Chennai for arms and weapons. The report says Kerala based terrorist organisations are smuggling arms and weapons from Tamil Nadu. Railway Police and RPF took part in the raid and they alerted all stations to be in high vigil.

On December 6 1997, four people were killed and almost 50 injured when a bomb devastated a train at Thrissur. In various instances huge amount of arms and weapons were caught from different parts of North Kerala. Intelligence reports suggest functioning of sleeper cells all over Malabar area under Terrorist organisations which have links with ISI.
