Marad Araya Samajam will strongly oppose any move by the government to give financial assistance as compensation to the Muslims, who had fled the area after the massacre of eight Hindu fishermen. They were the people who had allegedly motivated and supported the heinous crime.

Former Secretary of the Samajam, Mr T Suresh, Present Secretary T Murukesh and president C Babu said that they could view the government’s move to provide financial assistance as compensation to the Muslim families, as an encouragement to those supported the accused in committing the massacre.

The Chief Minister and the government had been informed of the Samajam’s opposition to the move. If they did not change their stand the Araya Samajam would launch mass agitation in the state, they warned.
