Aranmula: Kummanam slams Govt move , calls it Himalayan blunder

Hindu Aikya Vedi leader Kummanam rajasekharan, who I s also in the forefront of public agitation against the proposed Aranmula airport has slammed the state government for its latest decision to take ten percent stakes in the project.

In a statement Kummanam has termed the move as suicidal and a Himalayan blunder pointing out that that the LGS group, behind the project has applied all tricks in the trade to get the project implemented. “the government, which should be taking action against the group for destroying the ecological balance in the area, is now becoming part of the project,” he said adding that the state government has lost its credibility by getting associated with the KGDS group, that has flouted all the existing laws with regard to land acquisition and filling the Kerala Conservation of Paddy Land and Wetland Act-2008, Environment Protection Act, and the Land Utilisation Act-1967.

He also reminded the government hat it had initiated prosecution proceedings against the group for filling and converting the vast expanse of paddy land (puncha) and wetland.

Kummanam said that agitation will be strengthened in the coming days, in the wake of government decision.
