Kottayam: Convenor of Aranmula Pathrukagrama Karma Samiti Kummanam Rajashekharan has declared that all reports pertaining to granting of permission from the Union Ministry, towards the airport project in Aranmula is nothing but a well planned hoax, laced with malignant motives. In a recent press release Kummanam said that the Centre has not, till date, taken any decision in favour of constructing an airport in the place. He also stated that the present government in the centre has promised anulling of any consent granted towards the same by the previous Central government.

Lashing out at KGS Group for the malignant propaganda being indulged in by them, Kummanam said that all such reports are dividends of a fertile imagination possessed by KGS. “It is a deliberate shrewd attempt to create ideological confusion in the minds of people- the laymen. Also the news of officials from Central Aviation Ministry arriving on April 22 for a final assessment is also a fraudulent piece of information.”

Pointing out the Kerala government’s role in aiding the KGS Group in their agenda, Kumanam said, “This is nothing but a crafty move initiated by KGS Group to weaken the protest movement, create disunity among masses and grab land through deceitful means. For this they are being propped amply by state government of Kerala. However, all this has been well exposed and will never see success.”

Reiterating that any move in favour of airport construction will be met with stiff opposition, Kummanam reminded that both Green Tribunal and Supreme Court had clearly pronounced their verdicts against any kind of construction activity in the eco sensitive zone. “This makes it a closed chapter. All moves being made by KGS antagonize the Apex Court verdict,” he added.
