Sources said there had been a
tremendous transformation in Sabir, who has become a scholar in Islam
and a rabblerousing orator. He is suspected to be instrumental in
doctrinating Malayali youth to join the terror outfit.

Sabir was
among the gang which held a meeting in Kannur where a plot to
assassinate political leaders, including Nayanar and blow up bridges
was hatched. It came to light with the arrest of Ismail, a member in
the gang.

Police picked him up after it was found that the Rs 100 currency note he gave to a grocery shop was a fake one.During
the interrogation, it was revealed that the gang wanted to finish off
Nayanar as he often claimed that the credit for arresting Madhani
should go to his Government.

Ismail also told the police that the terror camp was organised by Tadiyantavide Nazeer and Ameer Ali alias Hameed Master.Sabir is also accused in the case related to planting of bomb in front of the Coimbatore Press Club.
