LDF ignored poll promise, says BJP leader

THRISSUR: BJP Kisan Morcha all-India secretary PC Mohanan has alleged that the LDF Government in the state has not implemented its election promise of writing off of farm loans.
Talking to media persons here on Monday, he said that 150 farmers committed suicide in the state in the first year of LDF rule.
He said that absence of an agriculture policy and lack of co-ordination among various departments had led to the present plight of farmers in the state.
He urged the state government to write off agriculture loans upto Rs lakh and extend interest free loans to all deserving farmers so as to enable them to continue in their profession.
