Amrita’s Engg. Dept. celebrates its 1st anniversary

Kollam: Lakshya, the association of the department of Mechanical Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus, is celebrating its first anniversary. A three-day inter-college technical festival, Pragati – 06, being organised as part of the celebrations that started on Friday, a release said.


MG Chandrasekaran, former director, National Institute of Technology, Kozhikode, inaugurated the festival on Friday. Director Sudeep, Dean KBM Nambudiripad and K Sankaran, principal, Amrita School of Engineering, and Prof Ganesh Udupa, head of the Mechanical Engineering Department participated in the inaugural ceremony held in the college auditorium.


Various events like paper presentation (Saangetika), concept designing (Srajanam), industrial problem solving (Vikalpam), quiz (Prajna) and selection of the best manager (Chanakya), which offered fabulous cash prizes for the winners, were held as part of the festival.
