Alapuzha: Vinod’s body was consigned to flames on Monday evening amidst chanting of ‘Hare Krishna, Hare Rama’ by thousands of Hindus who came to see a last glimpse of their leader who fell prey to the swords of Jihadi NDF Terrorists on Sunday.

The dawn-to-dusk hartal in Mavelikkara taluk on Monday called by the RSS in protest against the murder of Vinod, the Taluk Karyavahak of the organisation in Vallikunnam, was total. Vinod, hailing from a poor family without any land of their own, was hacked to death by Killing squad of NDF Terrorist organization.

Vinod, was returning home on a bicycle, when he was waylaid and hacked to death by the NDF workers who came on two-wheelers. Local residents said that the NDF men were roaming around in the area since afternoon on Sunday.

There were several deep wounds on the head of Vinod and the assailants did not allow anyone to take him to hospital. RSS leaders suspect that the wounds on Vinod’s head resembled the wounds found on the body of slain Hindu Aikyavedi leader T Ashvinikumar in Kannur district. This showed an increasing presence of a killer squad of the NDF in the area, they said.

Local people said that Vinod had a very good personal rapport with the Muslim community of the area and many of his friends were Muslims. This could have irked the NDF men as the sober elements in the Muslim community including the Mujahids were against the Islamic resistance organisation.

RSS Saha Prantha Pracharak J Nandakumar, Jilla Karyavahak M R Prasad, Senior Swayamsevak K.Krishnankutty, BJP State Secretary A N Radhakrishnan and many leaders irrespective of political affiliations participated in the funeral procession.
