KOZHIKODE: Police on Thursday arrested four youths for allegedly trying to kidnap a 15-year-old girl, studying in Cheruvannur Higher Secondary School.

Police arrested P.P.Siddiqe, 25, son of Moideen, Pandaraparambil House, Manjoor near Kuttipuram; M K Muhammed Ali, 35, son of Marakkar, Madathil House, Kuttipuram; P.Munas, 24, son of Chekkutty Haji, Panali house, Arimbra near Murayur and K Razaq, 30, son of Moideen, Kalladi Nattikkal house, Puthiyangadi near Tirur.

Police said the girl, a 9th standard student, hails from Nilambur and is residing at Perumugham near Feroke.

The accused have kidnapped the girl near the school premises in the evening and were going towards Ramanattukara.

Suspecting something fishy over the presence of a girl with four youths, the local people questioned them and informed the police.
