After Death of Soviet Russia, Tata sponsoring CPI

via HK published on June 16, 2007

Kozhikode: The former State president and senior leader of the BJP, PS Sreedharan Pillai has lashed out against the CPI accusing it of surviving with the financial help from the business conglomerate Tata. The BJP leader said that the CPI ever since the crumbling of the Soviet Union had no other means to survive and was liberally helped by the Tata’s.

The soft corner towards Tata in Munnar by CPI is as a result of this loyalty. In Thrissur District CPI had encroached 260 acres of Athirapally forest belonging to Tribals. Sridharan Pillai demanded CPI to evict this land which is occupied by illegal means and give it back to Adivasis.

The BJP leader also called upon the resignation of Chief Minister Achuthanandan from the post owing to the scathing criticism from the honourable high court regarding the failure to take action in the encroachment issue.

Sreedharan Pillai who is the national executive member of the BJP also alleged that there should be a thorough enquiry into the collection of funds for the mouth piece of the CPI, Janayugam. He also alleged that Janayugam has collected maximum amount from Idukki district where Munnar is situated and added that this is not accidental.

In Munnar, encroachment was done both by the ruling LDF and opposition UDF. Instead of acting against this land grab by political leaders, Govt. was more interested in charging FIR against BJP activists for conducting a protest march in Peerumede to expose the role of Congress and Communist.
