A ‘Second Guruvayur Satyaraha’, Hints Kummanam Rajashekharan

published on July 29, 2014

Hindu Aikya Vedi General Secretary Kummanam Rajashekharan has given a clarion call for a second Guruvayur Satyagraha, or safeguarding the temple. The exhortation was given, while delivering the key address at ‘Kshetra Raksha Sammelanam’ in Guruvayur.

“Corruption, bias and inefficiency are the very aspects now being indulged in by Guruvayur Devaswom Board. Therefore they have no right to continue holding office. Blinded by politics, the Devaswom Board is now issuing challenges to devotees who throng the temple from far and wide, who are even denied basic amenities. This is akin to torture. There has been manipulation of funds and mass swindling in the DB, all in the name of temple development. Apart from these, the very security of the temple is at heavy risk. Any development work should proceed systematically. However, whatever is going on stands diametrically opposed to any plan and this is going on at an unbridled pace. Why is it that no importance is being given to the wishes and interests of devotees? In fact devotees should come down heavily against the Devaswom Board, which is turning a blind eye to their interests,” he said.

The meet was inaugurated by state president of Hindu Aikya Vedi Sasikala Teacher. The meet was presided over by RSS Jilla Sanghachalak P Venugopal.
