Follow Lord Krishna: Mar Chrysostum

PATHANAMTHITTA: Mar Thoma Valiya Metropolitan Philipose Mar Chrysostum has called for practising the teachings and philosophy of Lord Sree Krishna to rescue society from the present all-round erosion of ethical and moral values. Inaugurating the Kudumbasangamam organised by the Balagokulam as part of Sree Krishna Jayanti at Kulanada Devi temple auditorium near Pandalam on Sunday,  Philipose Mar Chrysostum said that the society was fast losing its social values and the people are hankering after  material comforts, discarding all kind of ethical values.  The tendency of people to pursue  material things at any cost is dangerous and destructive.

  Whatever comforts God had provided for people for their welfare and happiness, are being misused, the Valiya Metropolitan said.Delivering the presidential address, chairman of the Balagokulam curriculum committee, E M Gopalakrsihnan said the curriculum selected for  members of the Balagokulam were for their overall development and for promoting cultural values.   Balagokulam is giving thrust to enlighten the new generation about the rich cultural and moral standards, he said.Delivering the keynote address, RSS southern regional baudhik pramukh J Nandakumar said that the Balagokulam is focussing on the overall cultural development of the new generation.

He said that society was facing all-round erosion in cultural values.Valiya Metropolitan honoured Sanskrit scholar and general secretary of Sanathana Dharma Acharya Samithi Dr K P Kesavan Nampoothiri,  noted diabetes specialist Dr G Vijayakumar, cartoonist S Jithesh, dairy farmer B P Prakash and  Kargil martyr Jayakrishna Kaimal ‘s mother Radhamoniamma at the function.Swami Yogavrithananda delivered the benedictory address. Organising committee general convener Ashokan Kulanada and Balagokulam taluk secretary R Vishnuraj proposed a vote of thanks.
