Swami Poornamritanandapuri, of Mata Amritanandamayi Math, has said that for a peaceful and happy life, people should have to opt for the spiritual path.

Inaugurating the 101st Ayroor-Cherukolpuzha Hindu convention, organised by the Ayroor-Cherukolpuzha Hindumatha Mahamandalam at Vidyadhiraja Nagar at Ayroor near Kozhenchery on Sunday, he said that in the present day tension-ridden life, people should get the blessings of God to ward off their problems.    He said that from the moment when a child takes birth till his last, life is passed through various kinds of unhappy and sorrowful moments. To overcome the problems in life, one should get peace of mind, he said.

To get peace of mind, people will choose the spiritual way of life.

Through prayers and surrendering one’s life before God, people could achieve it, he said.

The new generation should be taught the great philosophy and the culture of the country for achieving ethical standards, he said. Distancing oneself from the philosophy of seeing motherhood in everything, including the earth, rivers and women, is cause for the present atrocities on nature and on women, he said.

Punishment or law alone will not resolve the problem. Creating awareness among the people, including the new generation, should be the need of the hour, Swami Poornamritanandapuri said.

Delivering the keynote address, Hindu Aikyavedi general secretary and patron of Thiruvaranmula Paithrukagrama Samrakshana Samiti Kummanam Rajasekharan called upon the people not to allow the airport project to come up in Aranmula.

Being the only temple in the name of Lord Balabhadra in Aranmula, one of the incarnations of Lord Mahavishnu who symbolises for agriculture prosperity, the airport project should not be allowed to come up there. Lok Sabha former director general P D T Achari presided over the function. Earlier, Hindumatha Mandalam president T N Upendranatha Kurup welcomed the gathering.
