Kochi: Niche of Truth, an Islamic religious study centre functioning in Vytilla has come under the scrutiny of intelligence agencies, following the recruitment of Malayalis in the dreaded international terror outfit ISIS. Sources have revealed that Niche of Truth is a sister concern of Peace Foundation, belonging to controversial Islamic fundamentalist preacher Zakir Naik. The organization came under a clout of suspicion following the arrest of Arshi Qureshi, who is said to have frequented them umpteen times. Apart from Qureshi, other ISIS recruits Merrin, Isa, Yahiya, Ijaz and Abdullah were frequent visitors to the centre.

Police have procured ample evidences of numerous ISIS related messages having been sent from the computer systems of Nice of Truth. “Apart from this Quresh and Rizwan have given statements which point out the roles of three eminent Kochi based businessmen which have been making generous financial contributions to Muslim Charitable Trust, which is closely linked with Zakir Naik’s Islamic Research Foundation. A report has been submitted to the central government by central investigation agencies with regard to the same. These businessmen have set up their own empires in the fields of healthcare, infrastructure etc. It is with their liberal donations that organizations associated with Peace Foundation are flourishing. In fact Qureshi is known as Kerala’s Zakir Naik,” said a senior police official.
