Vadakara: The former president of Payyoli panchayat KT Sindhu, is to sue legally, DYFI activists in Vadakara for moral policing. According to sources, Congress leader Sindhu contemplated the move following police inaction.

Accusing  police of adopting a lackadaisical attitude towards the matter, Sindhu said that she was badly insulted by the DYFI activists. “Women value their dignity most. The insult meted out to me by the police was unbearable. I would strive to get justice at any cost,” she is said to have stated.

Reports state that police have taken Nikhil (29) of Edakkudi, a DYFI worker into custody, one among the 20 accused in the case.

Things took an ugly turn when KT Sindhu and Thodannur block panchayat president Thiruvalloor Murali were locked in the Swalcos office in Vadakara by a group of persons last Friday. They were taken into custody immediately and retained for several hours. This caused ample  tensions, with people  on the station premises. A medical examination of Murali and Sindhu was also done.
