Govt. issues special notification for the daughter of Muslim League leader

Kozhikode:The move to grant permission to the daughter of a muslim league leader to  do house surgency in Kozhikode Dental college, bypassing the law and procedures, has invited wide-spread protest.

This special concession was granted to Seharabhanu, the daughter of Muslim League leader of Wayanadu,  K.K.Ahmed .She had done BDS from a private, self-financed college in Mangalore and was coming to do house surgency in Kozhikode. In order to accommodate this student, the goverment had issued special notification, saying that as a special case, she should be admitted but that it should not set a precedence!

Dental college students are now on strike against this special waiver.As already there are many minority-owned medical colleges in the state, special interest  taken by the goverment will only help to curb the chances of poor,  bright students who have to depend on public professional institutions.
