Agni lit for Somayagam

PALAKKAD: Agni was lit at the yagasala to mark the conduct of the rituals as part of the Panniyoor Somayagam which began near the precincts of Panniyoor Sree Varahamoorthy temple at Anakkara on Friday.
The yagam began with the conduct of rituals by 17 ritwiks and a main priest.
Parameswaran Adithirippad of Thavannur Mana who is the ‘yajamanan’, along with the ‘pathanadi’, his wife Ramani Antharjanam, entered the yagasala to mark the beginning of the yagam.
The yagam will conclude on March 28.
