Sankara jayanthi fete inaugurated
KOCHI: The 1,219th Sree Sankara Jayanthi celebrations at Sringeri Sankara Math was inaugurated by Justice P.R.Raman of Kerala High Court on Wednesday. Main rituals were performed infront of the idol of Sree Sankara.
K S Radhakrishnan, Vice-Chancellor of Sree Sankara University of Sanskrit, Kalady, inaugurated the Vidwat Sadas in the evening. The five- day Vidwat Sadas will be presided over by Nagaraja Bhatt Sasthri, Ashtana Vidwan of Sringeri Math.
Holy water from Manasa Sarovar, the Ganges, Yamuna, Narmada, Kaveri, Tungabhadra, Nethravathi, Pampa and Nila were brought for abhishekam on the Sankara Jayanthi day.
