KOCHI: Amrita TV’s morning programme Udayamritam has entered the Limca Book of Records, 2007 —under the category India at her best — for creating the ‘‘longest single shot non-fiction programme in Indian Television.’’ Udayamritam is featured on page 133 under the chapter ‘Television.’
The one-hour morning programme that focuses on heritage, culture, yoga and folklore is telecast every day.
Around 50 traditional artists and 75 crew members worked in unison to create the Onam special episode of ‘Udayamritam’ which was aired on September 5, 2006. Different traditional art forms were brought together at Arangottukara village in Thrissur.
The filming was done in one shot for 55 minutes in front of the Varakkappally mana, an important landmark in the region. Reji Syne directed the programme and Prashanth was the cameraman.
