Guruvayur-Devaprasnam begins today
GURUVAYUR: The Ashtamangalya Devaprasnam at Sree Krishna temple will begin from Wednesday morning. The 81-day long Bhagavathiseva which is performed prior to the devaprasnam concluded here on Tuesday evening.
Temple thantris Chennas Raman Namboothiripad, Chennas Vasudevan Nambothiripad and Chennas Satheesan Namboothiripad performed the Bhagavathiseva ritual at the Koothambalam as per the direction of chief astrologer Irinjalakkuda Padmanabha Sharma.
The raasi pooja and raasi veypu rituals will be performed at the South Vathil Matam of Nalambalam at 9 am. The debate on raasi will be performed at the 1st floor of the temple oottupura. Leaders of various Hindu organisations and hundreds of devotees will attend the devaprasnam and elaborate arrangements for them has been made in the hall, said Guruvayur Devaswom administrator V Ratheesan.
Devaswom chairman Thottathil Raveendran, committee members and devaswom administrator V Ratheesan will sit for the prasna vichinthanam. Chief astrologer Padmanabha Sharma arrived here on Tuesday evening and offered prayers before Sree Guruvayurappan and examined the arrangements made by the devaswom at the temple.
Devaprasnam is being conducted at the temple after 17 years and owing to that, the devaprasnam may last for many days, said Sharma to this website’s newspaper. He reserved further comments till Thursday.
The prasadamoottu for the devotees will be held only at the second floor of the Oottupura owing to the devaprasnam at the temple and the prasadamoottu will begin at 10 am instead of usual timing 11 am said administrator V Ratheesan.
