Swamy Gopalananda Theertha Jayanti fete ends
ALUVA: An yearlong celebrations of the 75th jayanti of social reformist and educationist Swamy Gopalananda Theertha concluded here on Saturday.
Swamy Gopalananda Theertha was the founder of Geetha Bhavan Trust, Aluva Vidyadhiraja Vidya Bhavan HSS and Nochima Haindava Seva Ashram.
Swamy passed away on October 8, 1979 at the age of 47. R. Sreelekha IPS, managing director of Roads and Bridges Development Corporation, Kerala, delivered the keynote address at the cultural meeting held in this connection.
Kerala RSS Pranth Sang Chalak P.E.B. Menon unveiled the bust of Swamy Gopalananda Theertha at VVB HSS. He also presided over the cultural meeting.
MES trustee K. M. Shamsudeen and K. T. Joy spoke on the occasion. A. M. Yousef MLA inaugurated the valedictory meeting.
Former municipal chairman M. O. John, Geetha Bhavan Trust chairman P. Maharaj, PTA secretary G. N. Mohan and Mathrusangam chairperson Nazeera Rafeeq spoke on.
