Ayyappa Seva Sangham to offer facilities for pilgrims

SABARIMALA: The Akhila Bharatha Ayyappa Seva Sangham is offering facilities for the Sabarimala pilgrims who opt the traditional Azhutha-Karimala forest route for Sabarimala.

The facilities at Valianavattom and Karimala include annadanam, medical facilities, medicated drinking water and resting area, Seva Sangham general secretary N Sreenivasan said.

While the facilities at Karimala will be opened on December 15, the Valianavattom centre will be ready on December 20, Sreenivasan said. At Karimala, the Seva Sangham has almost completed the make-shift facility for the annual free service.

The Seva Sangham volunteers are working hard to complete the arrangements so that the facilities could be provided to the pilgrims who have started arriving through the strenuous trekking path, he said.

At Valianavattom, the Seva Sangham is offering free food to the pilgrims for about 14 hours from 6 am. The services of a four-member doctors’ team, including two cardiologists, have also been arranged.

The sangham is offering basic facilities for the pilgrims at Azhutha and Kallidamkunnu, Sreenivasan said. At Erumley, the Seva Sangham offers annadanam and free medicated water.

An information centre has also been set up there, he said. The free service facility at Uppupara will be launched soon after Kumily- Uppupara bus service is resumed.

Free vehicle service: The Ayyappa Seva Sangham, in association with the TVS Group Madurai, has launched a free vehicle service centre at Pampa.

Seva Sangham general secretary N Sreenivasan inaugurated the facility by lighting the traditional lamp.
