Krishnayanam-2010 – An International Children’s Meet
Balagokulam, the cultural movement of the children has won the minds of all those for a refined, peaceful society free from the clutches of undesirable modern trends. Its systematic upbringing of the boys and girls equipping with potentialities to face the alarming trend of degeneration of values that engulf the society with pursuit of economic development, has become the centre of attraction in the present socio-political scenario of Kerala.
While the usual media is influencing the young generation for a transformation of the outlook of life, Balagokulam has succeeded to a great extent to stall the degeneration in the cultural arena especially in rural areas. The urbanization of villages and the life of vanity and false pride in the modern age has made the right thinking people to encourage children to marry the ideas put in practice by Balagokulam since they realize that endorsing blindly the political ideas engaged in transforming the society as only a materialistic rout is dangerous.
The activity of Balagokulam that has now been rooted deeply in Kerala through its 2000 units has spread out in other parts of our nation also. Balagokulam units are functioning in major cities like Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, Mangalore, Jaipur etc. and also some places abroad, especially in Gulf countries.
It is in this context, Balagokulam had been invited to join the Global Network of Religion for Children (GNRC, which is recognized by UNICEF and UNESCO) formed in 2000 at Tokyo by Arigatou Foundation of Japan. Since then Balagokulam acquired an international scenario to work with similar organizations all over the world.
There are few offshoots also to this organization viz. Balasamskarakendram (for concentrated work among families living in flats unattached with the general public), Amrutha bharathi (an institution for conducting examination in cultural subjects and Sanskrit literature), Balasahithy Prakashan (Publication of books for children), Jnanayajnam (door to door campaign for reading books of Indian Philosophy, culture and moral values.), Sourakshika (body to protect the rights of the children and for legal remedies for atrocities on children.).
To enthuse those who take these noble activities to their hearts a mammoth gathering by name “Krishnayanam-2010†(International Children’s Meet) is scheduled to be held in on 3rd and 4th of April 2010 at Thrissur the heart land of Kerala. 25,000 children and then mentors will assemble in the congregation and will have educative discourses, enthralling presentation of art forms and above all for exhibiting the bondage and dedication to the cause of the nation in the days to come.
The highlighted matter for discussion on the gathering is the problems faced by children, building up of a child policy and protection of the earth, tradition and values. This Congregation will be unique of its kind and a most spectacular one in the history.
We intend to ensure participation of renowned personalities and stalwarts in the epoch making event and to enthuse the children for the dedication for the cause they stand for.
