Vedic hymns reaches to Non Brahmins – A Historic Moment in Kadavallor

Edappal: The first batch of non-Brahmin students on Vedic chanting programme organised by Kadavallor Anyonya Parishath has passed out in Adappal by making a history in Vedic learning.

 

This was the first time in Kerala where non-Brahmins including women passed out a Vedic course in a traditional way called ‘Thalapidikkal’. Parikshath have commenced a great mission to spread Vedic wisdom to all Hindus irrespective of caste and region. Main lecturers were Dr. M.K Jadavedan Namboodiri and Adappal Naras Dr. Ittiravi Namboodiri.

 

They are also happy to accept curious non-Hindus in their programme. The first batch started on May 9^th with 30 students from various parts of Kerala including women and people from all castes. Participants showed a great interest in learning Vedas and were pledged to spread the message of Vedas to everyone. Many felt like privileged by learning Vedas with its unique Keralite chanting style.

 

Certificates were issued on the pass out ceremony by Cochin Devasom Board President T.G Ravi, poet ‘Mahakavi’ Akkitham was also present in the function. The vision of great Vedic scholar Aakkara Raman Namboodiri to spread Vedic wisdom to everyone irrespective of caste has been realised by this effort commented Akkitham. The Parishath is planning to organise their second batch and are also looking for financial assistance on this great initiative.
