Athmeeya Acharyan Shri AKB Nair honoured with Krishnayanam Award.

Noted exponent of  Temple Culture, Ramayanam, Bhagavath Geeta & Bhagavatam, Shri  AKB Nair has received this year’s Krishnayanam Puraskaram. The award is constituted by Chattambi Swami Tiruvatikal Memorial Trust of Attukal in Trivandrum under the auspices of Attukal Bhagavathi Temple Trust.  The award is conferred by the trust every year to individuals for their exceptional contributions on Hindu Religious Literature.

For the award in 2010, AKB Nair’s commentary on Vishnu Sahasranamam was selected by the award judging committee. The commentary titled “ Sree Vishnu Sahasranama Storam – Lalitha Vyakyanam” published by Ananya Publications, Calicut is an outstanding work which explains in detail the true meaning of all 1000 names of Lord Vishnu in simple language, so as to reach the lay public.

A concurrent award by the same trust titled  “ Chatambi  Swamikal Smaraka Hemalatha Puraskaram” was conferred on Dr.Raman Nair – Librarian MG University for his book on the life of Chattambi Swamikal.

The award was handed over to AKB Nair by Shri. Rajendran – Revenue Minister, Kerala on 31st August 2010 during a function held in connection with the 157th birth anniversary of Shri. Chattambi Swamikal. The function was held at the Aamba Auditorium in the Attukal Temple Premises

Shri AKB Nair is also author of “Kshetraradhana” a book giving details of all aspects of temple worship and its significance. His other popular title “Bhagavath Geeta – Lalitha Vyakhyanam” had received Basha Samanwaya Vedi – Abhayadev Smaraka Puraskaram awarded by Basha Samanwya Vedi in Calicut for outstanding translation and commentary.
