Kumaranalloor Temple festival from tomorrow
KOTTAYAM: The annual festival at the Kumaranalloor Devi temple will be held from November 23 to December 2. The temple will be decked up with thousands of Trikkarthika lamps on the Trikkarthika Day, falling on December 1.
The Trikkarthika festival will also be noted for a mahaprasadamoottu on December 1. The flag for the annual festival will be hoisted at 4 pm on Monday. All days of the festival will turn the temple precincts into a venue for staging variety arts programmes in the evenings.
The initial preparation of side dishes (karikkuvettu) for the mahaprasadamoottu will be held on the eighth day.
The mahaprasadamoottu, along with the Trikkarthika festival and darsanam, is slated for the ninth day.
Eminent maestros in various fields like Matangi Satyamoorthy (classical music), Mattannur Sankarankutty Marar (thayambaka) and others will enliven the minds of connoisseurs during the festival days, in various sessions.
Ezhunnellippu to the aarattu kadavu will be held at 1 pm on the last day. The aarattu thirichezunnellippu will begin at 7 pm.
Kumaranalloor Devaswom chief C N Sankaran Namboothiri, organising committee convenor P N Sasidharan Nair, M R Divakara Panicker and P K Gopalakrishnan Nair attended the news conference.
